our final installment of The Battleplays Trilogy (Monkey Town / the Brick Theater) uses 3 live performers enacting a ritualized narrative of noir and jazz. Mixing Miles Davis, Tai Chi, late 80’s hip-hop, and live music, ‘My Kind of Blood’ is a 45 minute neo-noir performance that deconstructs a classic jazz masterpiece to finalize a vision of isolation, mono-maniacal obsession, & American myth in popular culture.
